7 Days Kenya Classic Wildlife Safari

Discover East Africa’s most underrated safari tour destination in Kenya Samburu National Reserve. The Samburu National park Safari tour takes you off-the-common beaten paths {meet the Northern less common animals} home to Leopard, Lions and cheetah encounter plus other wildlife like hereditary Elephants. We then drive on the floor of the Great Rift Valley to explore Rhinos and birders sanctuary {Lake Nakuru National Park} to Masai Mara, & finally enjoy walking & boat Safari in Lake Naivasha.

Detailed Itinerary

Arrival

You’ll be picked from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged at an extra cost.

Day: 1 | Samburu National Reserve

We depart Nairobi in the morning, drive south along with the Central Kenya Highlands, and arrive in Samburu Sopa Safari Lodge in time for lunch. You can spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing before we set off for an evening game drive, your first taste of wildlife encounter. The Samburu National Reserve is also the home of Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves.

Day: 2 | Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, we will depart for another morning game drive and return to the lodge for lunch followed by swimming, games, and relaxation. Late afternoon, we will set off this time, for an evening game drive until sunset to witness the serenity of this reserve. Samburu National Reserve exudes a peaceful aura that attracts animals and greatly because of the Ewaso Ng’iro river (meaning brown water) that runs through it and surrounded by acacia, riverine forest, thorn trees, and grassland vegetation. The Ewaso Ng’iro flows from the Kenyan highlands and empties into the famous Lorian Swamp.

Day: 3 | Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then head out for an early morning game drive on your journey (approximately 4-5 hours) to Nakuru town. Stop off at Nyahururu for lunch; Enjoy the scenery along the way. After check-in at Lake Nakuru Lodge, go on an evening game drive.

Day: 4 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Enjoy breakfast and then check-out of the lodge. Experience a morning game drive as we travel approximately 3-4 hours to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Along the way have a chance to stop and visit Lake Naivasha. Arrive and check-in at Sopa Lodge for lunch, relax, freshen up and then head out for an evening game drive.

Day: 5 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, we depart out for a full day of game viewing exploring the Masai Mara game reserve with picnic lunch boxes serve at the Mara River. This is where the great wildebeest migration takes place at the beginning of August. Months before the actual migration, the herds ‘assemble’ in Serengeti in readiness for the crossing into Masai Mara. Africa has a long history of capturing the imagination of travelers, a continent of dramatic contrasts that gives you an unforgettable and remarkable experience whether it’s in amazement of watching thousands of wild beasts struggling across a rushing river that is littered with crocodiles waiting for their prey, makes the world’s premier wildlife spectacle. A lion making a kill can be witnessed in the late afternoon or a leopard in a tree enjoying the meal he has dragged up to avoid disturbance and detection. All meals and Overnight at the Lodge.

Day: 6 | Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha, along the floor of the Rift valley, now with more familiar memories of the landscape; arrive for lunch at the lodge, afternoon proceed on your adventure to various attractive features and places in Lake Naivasha. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow barked Acacia Xanthophlea, known as the yellow fever tree. These forests abound with birdlife, and Naivasha is known as a world-class birding. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia; Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleeps the day out in the shallows. The region surrounding the Lake is well worth exploring.

Day: 7 | Transfer Nairobi, Departure

After breakfast, proceed for a Boat ride then return to the Lodge. Relaxation in the Lodge then proceeds for lunch. After lunch, drive to Nairobi arriving late in the day with an airport drop off for your outbound flight.
